PeakHour 6.2.1 · Public Release

Build 63283

PeakHour 6.2 lets you choose the sites that decide your Internet status, and arrange the main window your way. It adds an Advisor section, a Wi-Fi Signal monitor and a speed test on the dashboard.

New
  • Choose up to 10 Internet sites, in place of three fixed hosts. Pick from more than 50 sites in groups such as Work & Video Calls, Gaming, Streaming and AI Tools, or add any host, in Settings > Dashboard > Internet Sites.
  • The dashboard names the site with a problem, for example "Netflix not responding". Click Internet to see each site, change them with Edit Sites…, or open The Internet in the Advisor to see the route to each one.
  • Add a site from Add Monitor > Latency with the new Internet Site card. Setup asks what you use the Internet for and suggests sites.
  • The main window is one scrolling view. Drag a section header to reorder the sections, show or hide them from Show Sections, and collapse them to a one-line summary.
  • A new Advisor section in the main window, on macOS 26 and later: your grade, what holds it back, the sites that don't respond, and your grade over the last 2 hours.
  • A new Wi-Fi Signal monitor graphs the Tx rate, SNR and signal strength, with history and CSV export.
  • Run a speed test from the ISP card on the dashboard. A new option lets each result set the available bandwidth of your Internet Gateway.
  • A label drops down when you lose the network or the Internet, and shows how long the outage lasted.
Improved
  • One clear rule for the Internet status: each site is judged against its own normal latency, the Internet latency is the median of your sites, and the Internet is unavailable only when more than half of them fail.
  • A fairer grade on Wi-Fi: the grade uses the middle result of your last speed tests on the same access point, and a slow upload on this Mac's Wi-Fi is named as such, with tips that help.
  • One dashboard for every window size. This Mac shows your Wi-Fi standard, an icon of your Mac model, and your adapter's name on a wired connection.
  • Lighter on your Mac: the main window uses much less CPU. Graphs get a scroll bar to look back in time.
  • PeakHour Remote shows each Internet site and the Wi-Fi Signal monitor.
Fixed
  • PeakHour starts normally when the App Store licence service is unavailable.
  • A site that stops answering stays red, and one site alone no longer triggers "Internet unavailable".
  • After a relaunch, all your monitors appear within a few seconds.
  • While you are offline, the dashboard no longer shows your ISP name and logo.
  • When your router comes back with a new address, its monitor offers "Use This Router" and keeps its history.
  • A Poor responsiveness under load on its own gives a B, not a C.
