PeakHour 6.0 · Public Release

Build 62996

PeakHour 6 is here. The biggest release PeakHour has had: an on-device AI Network Advisor that grades your connection and explains it in plain English, a rebuilt Liquid Glass dashboard, rewritten History charts, Wi-Fi Intelligence, outage alerts, and routers that find themselves.

New
  • AI Network Advisor — on-device intelligence grades your network with a letter score and explains what is happening in plain English. Powered by Apple Intelligence, so nothing leaves your Mac. Requires macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence available.
  • A completely redesigned Liquid Glass dashboard, with fluid sphere gauges, animated particles and infographic popovers, showing your whole connection as one chain: this Mac, router, ISP, internet.
  • Rewritten History charts, built on a new Canvas and Core Graphics renderer with spline curves, opposed split views and congestion gradients.
  • Deep network inspection — router, ISP and Wi-Fi intelligence, including a Wi-Fi Signal Inspector showing signal strength, noise, channel and transmit rate.
  • Internet Gateway auto-detection finds a UPnP router on your network on its own, with no IP address to type and nothing written to your settings until you adopt it.
  • Outage alert notifications tell you when your internet goes down and again when it comes back.
  • A speed test you can run straight from the menu bar, plus a Network Quality Report.
  • Max bandwidth reference lines on the graphs, so you can see how close you are to the line you pay for.
Improved
  • A new self-healing recovery engine, with circuit-breaker logic, graduated probe promotion, and automatic recovery from outages and sleep.
  • Modern SwiftUI onboarding, drag-to-resize dashboard cards, live previews, and a redesigned About screen.
  • A modernised PeakHour Remote dashboard and a refreshed PeakHour Enabler.
  • Menu bar items can be separated, and PeakHour now works alongside Bartender and Ice.
  • Dozens of CPU optimisations, including multi-display and fullscreen menu bar performance, rolling history pruning and a bounded timeline cache.
  • Safe migration from PeakHour 5, with iCloud sync validation.
  • Ready for macOS 26.
Fixed
  • SNMP sessions now recover automatically instead of going quiet after an interruption.
  • Bandwidth counters recover correctly across sleep and wake.
  • More accurate WAN IP detection, link speed reporting, and bandwidth sanity checks.
  • Scheduled speed tests run more reliably.
Privacy & security
  • The AI Network Advisor runs entirely on-device. Your network data is never sent to a server to produce an explanation.
  • Clear alerts when macOS Local Network permission is blocking router discovery, so PeakHour explains the problem rather than silently finding nothing.
